□ Missing featuresįinally, let's discuss some features that I wish Metroid Prime Remastered implemented to help modernize the experience. With that being said, one aspect that I don't like is that when you're first playing through the campaign, you'll regularly find an ability on one side of the map then have to run back to the other side which can be a real bummer whenever you just want to explore a new area. Spotting parts that you know you'll have to come back to later with an upgrade makes digging through every nook and cranny a delight and once you get to the point where you're trying to obtain all of the artifacts, you'll be amazed by how many upgrades and goodies you missed as you comb over the environments yet again. Probably the greatest aspect of Metroid Prime Remastered (as with any game in the series for that matter) is its intricate world design which will have you exploring just as much as you fight aliens. Meanwhile, the controls are tight and intuitive so you never have to struggle. Utilizing these abilities and weapons in both combat and to uncover more of the map is incredibly rewarding, especially when you take down a tough boss or unearth a much-needed upgrade. For example, you can easily enter Morph Ball mode which shifts the perspective to third-person and even side-scrolling in some areas and you have nifty weapons such as the charge beam and ice spreader. Playing Metroid Prime Remastered is generally what you'd expect from an exploration-based first-person shooter with elements of the classic Metroid games that are wonderfully adapted to the formula. ✨ I wish more games had lasers in their save rooms Gameplay Throw in a casual difficulty setting as well as a gallery full of art, music, and models and you have one fully-featured experience that's sure to delight both fans and newcomers to this classic game, especially with its lovely presentational overhaul. I played using the default options at first but after tinkering around with things, I was impressed with both the classic controls and motion controls that were also featured in Metroid Prime Trilogy. Metroid Prime Remastered not only looks much better with its gorgeous 16:9 presentation and redone visuals, it also has some welcome new options that allow you to control the action in a way that's suited to your preferred play style. I remember trying to scan everything I could in my playthrough which in retrospect, is far more tedious than I care to do now but that's what's cool about Metroid Prime: you can play it how you wish and have a fantastic experience.
